In Part one, Steve experienced the difficulty of hunting the Sooty grouse of southeast Alaska; in Part two, Steve joins his friend Barbara in Juneau who shows him the in and outs of finding hooters; tromping through Southeast Alaska rainforest, Steve and Barbara discover a mutual fondness for an unconventional hunt; Barbara concludes the hunt with a beachside meal of fettuccine a la sooty grouse.
