Smoky

Cowboy Clint Barkley (Fess Parker) domesticates a wild horse, quickly forming a bond with "Smoky," but his hated brother joins the staff at the ranch owned by Julie Richards (Diana Hyland) and soon plans to use the horse as a means of paying a debt. Smoky escapes, and Clint searches in vain for the escaped animal. Clint joins the service during World War II, and when he gets back home he finds Smoky, sadly realizing that the horse has met with some bad fortune in his absence.
