As schools break up for summer and kids can play in meadows amid poppies and singing skylarks, wildlife around the world has very different stories to tell. Lemmings are going crazy. On the Arctic tundra, the ground's frozen for most of the year, now they need to make the most of the time of plenty. But the giving summer heat is too much in southern Spain, where pools are drying out leaving fish high and dry, a feast for herons.
