As the Thanagarians take over Earth, the heroes escape and shed their costumes to hide from search patrols; Hro tells Hawkgirl the true purpose of the massive machine being built on Earth, forcing her to question where her true loyalties lie.

Earth faces an unprecedented alien threat when an army arrives from Hawkgirl's home planet of Thanagar with a warning about the vicious Gordanians; the Justice League learns a startling secret Hawkgirl kept from the other heroes.

The Justice League celebrates Christmas; Green Lantern and Hawkgirl show each other their ideas of having a good time; Flash tries to find a sold-out toy for children at an orphanage; Superman invites Martian Manhunter to spend the holiday in Kansas.

Comfort and Joy

Hawkgirl tends to a severely wounded Green Lantern, leaving Superman, Flash and Batman to fight off the Royal Flush Gang and disarm the remaining bombs; Joker reveals his grand scheme to a captive television audience.

Wild Cards

The Justice League races against time to disarm bombs that Joker planted along the Las Vegas Strip while a new group of super-powered children called the Royal Flush Gang attempts to stop them.

Thought dead by his friends, Superman wakes up in an apocalyptic wasteland 30,000 years in the future; with his powers diminishing, he searches for answers and finds them when he meets humanity's last survivor, a very old foe of the Justice League.

Hereafter

The Justice League and the world react in shock when Superman appears to die while battling a team of super villains; Batman searches for clues, believing he somehow survived; the obnoxious Lobo volunteers to take Superman's place in the League.

With the Justice League disbanded and each hero isolated, the Secret Society captures them one by one and prepares to execute them in front of the entire world.

Secret Society

Nerves begin to fray between members of the Justice League when their poor teamwork causes humiliating losses; Gorilla Grodd takes advantage of the tumult by assembling a group of villains to take the heroes down permanently.

Refusing to sacrifice Grundy to the ritual, the heroes decide to confront Icthultu directly by entering the other dimension, with Grundy intent on getting back his soul; Aquaman defends Atlantis from invading demons.

The Terror Beyond

Dr. Fate and his wife, Inza, gather Aquaman and Solomon Grundy to perform a ritual, but Aquaman's actions lead Superman, Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl to believe they have something sinister planned.
