Amanda travels to California to pick up special needs dogs at a local SPCA; she comes home with a Rottweiler puppy with a severe eye injury, a husky shepherd mix covered in maggots and two small puppies whose ears have fallen off.

The rescue receives two new residents: Professor Clovis, a miniature schnauzer with a suspected liver shunt who needs a complicated and costly surgery, and Hamburglar, a blind puppy who Amanda prepares for his new forever family.

Amanda works with Tia of Pit Bulls & Parolees to rescue a 3-legged Shepherd mix as part of a road trip rescue mission; she picks up 16 dogs along the way, including a young lab with a brain issue and a puppy mill survivor.
