DIRECTV is offering the all-new ESPN Unlimited App—for no additional cost—to most Signature Package customers.
What’s ESPN Unlimited?
A comprehensive streaming service that provides access to all ESPN channels, ESPN+ content, live events, and on-demand content. It consolidates ESPN’s vast content library into a single platform, including major leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, major golf and tennis tournaments, and top-tier college sports.
What’s included in ESPN Unlimited?
- Content exclusive to ESPN Unlimited App: WWE Premium Live Events, top-tier soccer, PGA Tour events, NHL, UFC, and other leagues.
- All ESPN Networks: Access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, SEC Network, ACC Network, and more.
- Live & On-Demand content: Watch live games, studio shows, originals, and on-demand replays.
- Major Sports Coverage: Access to NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA, college sports and playoffs, and major tennis and golf tournaments.
DIRECTV satellite customers in good standing with a Signature Package will get an email by November 30, 2025, with a link to add the ESPN Unlimited App to their account—at no extra cost.
Customers who stream DIRECTV using a Gemini device (no satellite dish) should have already received their activation email. Emails will be resent every 7 days until ESPN Unlimited is activated. If you stream DIRECTV via a Gemini (no satellite dish) and haven’t received your email, please check your spam folder.
Eligible customers may also be able to activate EPSN Unlimited by logging in to Manage TV package and finding the “Activate ESPN Unlimited” link. The link will appear for eligible customers by November 30, 2025.

Why can’t I get ESPN Unlimited right away?
Millions of DIRECTV customers will get no-cost access to the ESPN Unlimited App. The rollout is being done in stages to make the transition as smooth as possible.
What should I do when I get my activation email?
Select “Activate now” in the email. The link will take you to the ESPN website. You can activate your account by following the simple instructions.
After that, you can download the ESPN app on your TV or mobile device, log in and start watching. To access the ESPN App on your TV, you’ll need a DIRECTV Gemini device or a third-party device that supports app downloads (Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Samsung).
What if I don’t get my activation email by November 30, 2025, or if I accidentally deleted the email?
Check your spam folder. Emails will be re-sent every 7 days to eligible customers who haven’t yet activated their ESPN Unlimited account. Only DIRECTV account holders in good standing with a DIRECTV Signature Package or MySports are eligible.
Eligible customers may also be able to activate EPSN Unlimited by logging in to Manage TV package and finding the “Activate ESPN Unlimited” link. The links will appear for eligible customers by November 30, 2025.

How do I watch ESPN Unlimited?
- Download the ESPN Unlimited App. Requires a DIRECTV Gemini device or a third-party device that supports app downloads (Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Samsung) to watch on your TV. You must have a stable internet connection to watch ESPN Unlimited.
- Activate your account through your email from DIRECTV (required).
- Log in and enjoy!
Can I use my DIRECTV User ID and Password to activate ESPN Unlimited?
A separate activation process, including choosing an email and password, is required to establish ESPN credentials. However, if it’s easier to remember, you may be able to use the same email and password you use for your DIRECTV account.
Can my family members access ESPN Unlimited?
Yes. Anyone in your household can access ESPN Unlimited using the email and password you used to activate.
If I log into ESPN with my DIRECTV credentials before I get an activation email, will I get ESPN Unlimited?
No. You’ll only see whatever ESPN content is available with your existing DIRECTV Signature Package. You’ll need to use the activation email from DIRECTV to get all the premium content offered by ESPN Unlimited.
I already have ESPN Unlimited. Can I use my no-cost version from DIRECTV instead?
Yes! Once you get your activation email, follow the instructions. Log in using your existing ESPN credentials. Since your former paid account will still be active, you’ll need to cancel it to avoid being billed.
Can I upgrade to ESPN Unlimited without ads?
No. An ad-free version of ESPN doesn’t exist. Most ESPN channels—like all traditional broadcast channels—feature ads.
