Effective August 15, 2025, a selection of HBO and Cinemax channels will no longer be available on HBO Family. Impacted channels include: MovieMAX and ThrillerMAX.
Why are these channels being removed?
HBO and Cinemax are in the process of refining what channels best fit customer’s needs, and using this opportunity to streamline live channel offerings.
Will this affect my pricing and charges?
Pricing will remain the same. Cinemax programming remains available On Demand and HBO Family programming will remain accessible via On Demand and the HBO Max app.
Which channels are now included in the HBO and Cinemax subscriptions?

If you subscribe to HBO through DIRECTV, you can select DIRECTV as your TV Provider to continue watching all your favorites on the HBO Max app.

Follow these steps to log into the HBO Max app:
- Download and launch the HBO Max app or visit Max.com/provider.
- Connect to your TV provider by selecting DIRECTV.
- Sign in with your DIRECTV user ID and password. For help with your DIRECTV user ID or password, visit directv.com/login.
