Adding and removing apps from your DIRECTV Gemini device
Learn how to access, download and remove apps, and manage storage on your Gemini device.
Your Gemini device includes pre-loaded apps like Max, NETFLIX, Prime Video, and more. Interactive DIRECTV apps like Pandora and ScoreGuide are also available here. You can browse thousands of apps in the Google Play Store and add to your device.
New Gemini device orders also come with a free subscription to Disney+ Hulu Bundle.
Add apps to your Gemini device:
- Press the APPS button on your Gemini Voice remote.
- Select Get more apps on Google Play Store.
- Sign into your Google account. If you’re already signed in, you won’t have to do it again.
- Search for the app you want to add and download it.
“Low storage” warning: uninstall an app from your Gemini device:
If you get a “low storage” warning on your TV, the easiest way to resolve it is to remove apps you’re no longer using. Here’s how:
- Press the APPS button on your Gemini Voice remote.
- Highlight the app you want to uninstall and press the Overflow (…) button.
- Arrow down to Uninstall and press OK on the remote.
Heads up: Pre-installed DIRECTV apps cannot be uninstalled. These pre-installed apps include (but may not be limited to): Apple TV, Discovery Plus, Disney +, ESPN, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Peacock TV, Prime Video, Google Play Store, Google Play Games, Great Games by Play. Works, Local Now, YouTube, and YouTube Music.
