MLB.TV through DIRECTV
Learn how to get and access MLB.TV through DIRECTV plus additional support, app and channel info.
MLB.TV through DIRECTV offers regular season streaming access to out-of-market live games, on demand content and MLB Network.
Streaming MLB.TV requires a high-speed internet connected device to stream content.
DIRECTV offers MLB.TV as follows:
- Streaming customers (no Satellite): MLB.TV available as a standalone add-on.
- Satellite customers: MLB.TV is included as part of the MLB EXTRA INNINGS subscription, find ordering information and more at MLB EXTRA INNINGS.
Due to certain Major League Baseball national exclusivities, select regular season, special event, and post season games are unavailable on MLB.TV domestically and internationally. To check your home territory blackout restrictions, enter your zip code at support.mlb.com/s/game-availability-locator.
Order standalone MLB.TV through DIRECTV (streaming customers only)
- Sign-in to your account and go to My TV package.
- Locate MLB.TV, select Add, and follow the prompts.
- MLB.TV renews each month during the regular season. You can cancel at any time.
- The subscription automatically renews each season at the then-prevailing rate unless you cancel or opt out of auto-renewal.
- If you sign up for MLB.TV through DIRECTV, it won’t automatically replace any existing MLB.TV subscription you might have. To avoid additional charges, you’ll need to cancel your existing MLB.TV subscription.
- After adding MLB.TV to your account you'll have regular season access to individual teams in your Guide (ch. 1250-1279), the MLB Network (ch. 213), and after authentication, the MLB app and MLB.com.
How to authenticate your MLB.TV subscription
- You'll need to authenticate your subscription to stream on the MLB app or MLB.com.
- Visit MLB.TV and select Authenticate.
- Select Sign Up.
- Select DIRECTV and your TV Provider and enter your DIRECTV User ID and password.
Stream on the MLB app or MLB.com
- To stream on the MLB app, download the app from the app store on your DIRECTV device or another compatible device.

- If you've already completed authentication simply sign-in on the app or online using your DIRECTV User ID and Password.

Remove MLB.TV from your DIRECTV account (streaming customers only)
- Sign-in to your Account Overview and go to My TV Package.
- Locate MLB.TV, Remove and follow the prompts.

Troubleshoot viewing issues with the MLB app
- Make sure your device is connected to the internet.
- Internet download speed can affect your viewing experience. We suggest these internet download speeds: 8Mbps per stream in-home, or 2.5 to 7.5 Mbps mobile on-the-go. Test Your Internet Speed.
- Check if your device has the latest operating version.
- Check if the MLB app needs an update.
- If other apps or channels are working on your device, the issue may be isolated to the MLB app. Refer to support.mlb.com>network troubleshooting for additional information.
