The lovely Susan (Ava Gardner) dates Henry (David Niven), but before any serious romance develops, Susan quits him and gets hitched to his close friend, the ambitious Philip (Stewart Granger). The trio then embark on a lavish boat trip. But after running into treacherous weather, they become stranded on an island. Oddly, even in this exotic locale, Philip's attention turns to his finances. An annoyed Susan tries to rouse her husband's interest by letting romantic sparks fly with Henry.
