Get and troubleshoot the DIRECTV App on VIZIO Smart TVs

Want to access DIRECTV on your Vizio TV? The DIRECTV App is now compatible with most VIZIO Smart TVs.

General guidance from VIZIO:
VIZIO Smart TVs do not have a minimum Operating System requirement. All software updates go out via the cloud to all VIZIO Smart TVs in use.

At launch, the DIRECTV app will be officially supported on 2017 VIZIO Smart TV and newer models.

Ready to start watching with the DIRECTV App on your VIZIO Smart TV?
If you have a new VIZIO Smart TV, first register the TV, connect your TV to the internet and then navigate to the DIRECTV App. For detailed info, check out VIZIO set up (have your model number accessible).

Now that you are connected, add the DIRECTV App with your VIZIO remote control:
Option 1:

  1. From the home screen, open the Left Navigation menu and scroll to Apps.
  2. From there, search A-Z or through categories to locate the DIRECTV app.

Option 2: Access VIZIO search from the icon at the top of the left navigation User Interface menu.
Option 3: Find the DirecTV app on VIZIO (navigate to the Apps catalog page) and find DirecTV in the Movies+TV category.

Network Issues with Your VIZIO Smart TV?
The user manual is always the best resource for device specific guidance, but in general for most devices a user would go to Settings > All Settings > Network to confirm their TV is connected to the internet.

Software Issues with Your VIZIO Smart TV?
VIZIO TV software updates should occur automatically if the device is connected to the internet. To manually check that your VIZIO TV has the latest software, go to: Settings > All Settings > Admin & Privacy > Check for Updates
