DIRECTV subscribers with receiver models HR20 and above can use a smartphone or tablet as a remote control. Your mobile device and receiver(s) need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Before you get started:
How to use it:
- Open the DIRECTV App.
- Select the remote control icon next to Settings. (This will not control your television)
- Select a receiver from the drop-down list. If receivers are grayed out, they may not be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device.
- Turn on the device by tapping the power button.
