ArticleINSTRUCTIONS & INFO

If your receiver detects a high internal temperature, you get this message:
Your receiver is too hot and needs to cool down. Clear any obstructed air vents. The receiver will shut itself off if it continues to overheat.

This may happen if your receiver:

• Has blocked vents
• Is stacked on top of or under other electronic devices
• Is on a soft surface that insulates and traps heat

Quick answer
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When it starts to get too hot, your receiver automatically goes through these steps to cool down:
  • The red Record light comes on.
  • The fan comes on at max speed.
  • The receiver reboots.
If your receiver doesn’t restart itself, reboot it manually.

To make sure it doesn’t overheat:
  • Put it in a well-ventilated area and leave space on all sides of it.
  • Keep the vents free of dust and debris.
  • Don’t put it directly on top of or underneath your TV or other devices.
  • Don’t put it on a soft surface like a rug or blanket; this causes the heat to insulate.
