DIRECTV error code: 764
Error code 764 means that a wrong access card has been inserted in your receiver.
Switch your access card
If you see error code 764, it means that a wrong access card has been inserted in your receiver. For issues with more than one receiver, try switching the access cards to see if one of the other cards belongs in this receiver:
- Open the access card door on the front panel of the receiver and remove the access card.
- On some receiver models, the access card slot is on the right side of the receiver.
- Insert the access card into your receiver, making sure the chip is facing down with the logo or picture facing up.
