Go to your device’s app store:

Select the DIRECTV app and follow the prompts. Have your DIRECTV user ID and password handy for sign-in.

Want to record a show or movie to watch later? You can:

  • Record from the guide, the browsing carousel, or a device.
  • Schedule an upcoming recording now. It won’t show in your playlist until it’s done recording.
  • Schedule a recording on any device and watch it on another.
  • Record multiple shows at the same time until you use all your storage hours.
  • Store titles for up to 9 months with DIRECTV. You’ll see an alert 7 days before a recording expires.
For TV series recordings:
  • Customers with 20 hours of Cloud DVR storage are allowed a maximum of 10 episodes per TV series.
  • Customers with Unlimited Cloud DVR storage are allowed a maximum of 30 episodes per TV series.
  • Once the maximum episode limit is met, the oldest recorded episode will be automatically deleted first (within 9 months or less) to make room for the next recorded episode.

NBA League Pass is a subscription-based package that delivers up to 40 live NBA regular season games per week - all in HD. The NBA action appears on Ch. 750-768 during the regular season. NBA TV can be found on Ch. 216.

Try these tips:

  • Check for app updates in your app store. If an update is available, install it and restart your device.
  • Check for device software updates and install.
  • Close and restart the DIRECTV app.
  • Reboot your phone or tablet.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the DIRECTV app.
  • Re-launch the DIRECTV app and try again.
To reinstall the DIRECTV app:
  • Go to your device’s app store: Apple App store, Google Play store, Amazon for Android.
  • Select the DIRECTV app and follow the prompts for installation.
