DIRECTV must retain and process information about you for the purposes of our working relationship. We use your information to allow us to run the business and manage our relationship with you effectively, lawfully, and appropriately. We must do this during the application process, while you’re doing work for us, at the time when you stop doing work for us and after you have left DIRECTV. This includes using information to comply with an employment contract or work agreement, to comply with any legal requirements, to pursue DIRECTV’s legitimate business interests and to protect our legal position in the event of legal proceedings.

Much of the information we retain will have been provided by you, but some may come from other sources, such as your manager, or in some cases, external sources, such as previous employment or study references, medical professionals, or tax, judicial, or governmental authorities.

DIRECTV will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.
Your personal information will be stored for a period of time consistent with applicable law. After such period, the data is deleted or fully anonymized. Personal information collected about you as an employee is generally retained while we have a relationship with you plus a period of no more than 40 years after the term of your employment, except when the retention of the data is necessary to enforce or defend our rights or comply with law.

Please know that the privacy rights outlined below exercised in your role as an employee are subject to significant exceptions. We will respond to every request according to applicable law and will not retaliate or discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
