Set and manage your DIRECTV streaming home network

 

Set your home network for streaming DIRECTV

• Your home network is set to the IP address at your home location.
• You designate this network when you sign into the DIRECTV app for the first time with a streaming device connected to your home internet.
• Devices not connected to the home network are treated as out of home streaming/on-the-go.
• Streaming limits are determined by your account type, and if you're connected to your home network, or on-the-go.

Confirm you're connected to your home network

On your Gemini:

• Choose Settings, then Preferences
• Select Location Settings, and Home Location to see your connection status.

In the DIRECTV app on a connected compatible device:

• Go to the DIRECTV app.
• Choose Settings and then Preferences.
• Select Home settings to see your connection status.  

Update your home network

Make sure you only do this if you’ve changed your internet service provider or moved. You can only do it 4 times in a 12-month period.

On your Gemini:

• Choose Settings, then Preferences
• Select Location Settings, and Set New Home Location.
• Choose your new location.

On the DIRECTV app on a connected compatible device:

1. Go to the DIRECTV app.
2. Choose Settings and then Preferences.
3. Select Home Settings and then Set New Home Location.
4. Choose your new location.
