Taking DIRECTV STREAM with you is easy
1. Set up the internet connection in your new home.
2. Connect your compatible devices to your new home’s Wi-Fi.
3. Login to your account and update your billing/mailing address.
4. Start streaming ASAP with the DIRECTV STREAM app!
You don’t have to cancel your TV service when you move, especially when it’s easier to just transfer your old service to your new address.
How do I transfer my DIRECTV service?

What if I’m a DIRECTV customer moving to a condo or renting?
If you are moving to an apartment, condo, or rental home, you will need to provide the installer with a completed Landlord Approval Form before we can install and activate your TV service.
Can I make changes to my service when I move?

If I’m transferring my service, should I take my equipment with me?
Take your receivers, remotes, and owner’s manual with you, but leave your DIRECTV dish installed at your old address. When the technician arrives to set up your transferred service, he’ll take back what isn’t needed.
Does an installation technician need to come to my new home if I’m transferring my service?
When moving DIRECTV service, a technician will deliver and professionally install a new satellite dish at your new home.
Do I keep what’s recorded on my DIRECTV® Genie after I move?
If you take your old DVR with you, and your move is within the same local area, then the same recorded programs will be there DIRECTV STREAM , ready to watch, once your transferred service is connected. Moving out of your local area? Consider DIRECTV STREAM instead.
