Can I pause my account?

It’s easy for DIRECTV via internet customers to pause their account for up to three months. It’s a great alternative to canceling your account. Here’s how.

DIRECTV via internet customers whose accounts are in good standing can easily pause their accounts for 1, 2, or 3 months.

  • Login
  • Select “Manage my TV Package.”
  • On your TV package card (Entertainment, Choice, Ultimate, or Premier), click “Pause my service.”
  • Follow the prompts.

Your pause will begin on the first day of your next billing cycle. You can watch and use your DIRECTV service regularly until then.

  • You won’t be charged. 
  • You won’t be able to watch DIRECTV.
  • You won’t be able to access your DVRs.
  • You will be able to add or remove premium channels and change your TV package. Changes you make will start automatically once your pause ends.
  • You can shorten extend the length of your pause (up to the 3-month maximum).
  • You can restart your service at any time.
  • You can cancel your service completely at any time.

  • Your service will resume automatically.
  • Your billings will resume automatically from your payment method on file.
  • Any changes you made to your TV package or add-ons will take effect.
  • You’ll be able to access your DVRs and make new ones.
