Can’t pay by the due date or missed a payment? Some DIRECTV satellite customers may be eligible for a Payment arrangement to avoid service disruption.

If you have missed a payment or know you won’t be able to pay by the due date, you may be eligible for a payment arrangement to help avoid service interruption. DIRECTV offers the following payment arrangement options:

Promise to Pay

A promise to pay allows you to commit to making a payment on a specified future date. You can let us know the amount and date you plan to pay. Late fees may still apply to your account.

Note: The option to pay later may not be available for all accounts.

  1. Sign in to your account at directv.com.
  2. In the Total Balance section, select the Can’t pay now? Pay later link. Note: If you do not see Can’t pay now? Pay later; you are not eligible for a promise to pay.
  3. In the Promise to Pay window, enter your expected payment date, payment amount, and payment method.
  4. Select Submit.

Request a service interruption extension

Some customers who see the Can’t pay now? Pay later option may be eligible for a one-time service interruption extension up to five days. Doing so will temporarily delay the service interruption and pause collection calls. This may take approximately 24 hours to take effect. To set up, do the following:

  1. Sign in to your account at directv.com.
  2. In the Total Balance section, select the Can’t pay now? Pay later link.
  3. If the Request a Service Interruption Extension window displays, you’re eligible for a service extension.
  4. Select your expected payment date and Submit.

Heads Up: By requesting a service interruption extension, you're informing us of the payment you'll make in the future rather than scheduling an actual payment. If you do not see a Promise to Pay window, you’re not eligible for a service interruption extension. Your service will be interrupted on the scheduled date unless we receive your payment by then.

Schedule a payment after the due date (future payment)

Some DIRECTV satellite customers may be eligible to schedule a payment after the due date, which may help delay service interruption and pause collection activity. This option is not available online.

To schedule a payment after your due date, you can chat with an agent at directv.com or call our DIRECTV support.

Potential fees

  1. Late fees apply if you pay your bill after the due date.
  2. We charge a convenience fee if you call or chat with us to make or schedule a payment arrangement.
  3. You'll owe a reconnection fee if you don’t pay by the date you agreed to, and your service is suspended.

Internet connection (No satellite)

For customers streaming over the internet, payment arrangement options, such as promise to pay, service interruption extension, and scheduling payments after the due date are not available.

To avoid service interruption, please make your payment by the due date and ensure your payment method on file is valid before your payment date and ensure your payment method on file is valid before your payment date and ensure your payment method on file is valid before your payment date. If your account has a past-due balance, updating your payment method will immediately process a payment.
