ArticleDETAILED INFO

What to know about parental controls

With DIRECTV parental controls, you can:
  • Limit TV watching times
  • Set spending limits for DIRECTV Movies or live Pay Per View events
  • Block shows and channels based on ratings or parental preference
  • Check the ratings for movies and shows to see if they're OK for your child to watch (to see a rating, select a program, choose info, and scroll down)

Heads up:
DIRECTV parental controls don't work on third party streaming apps. If you use apps, like SHOWTIME or HBO MaxTM, set up parental controls separately.

Also, parental controls don't carry to directv.com or the DIRECTV App. Set the parental controls on each platform your family uses.
