Disable auto sign-in for your DIRECTV device
Your DIRECTV streaming device is pre-configured with auto sign-in to make it easier for you to start using it. Before returning the device or getting rid of it, you must disable auto sign-in.
Why you may want to disable Auto-Sign In
- To prevent the device from being used by an authorized person providing access to your customized viewing experience and account information.
- If the device is lost or stolen, of when shipping returns, such as with a warranty replacement.
- If you own your device and no longer need it and plan to give it to someone else to use.
Important Information to Know
If you disable auto sign-in on your DIRECTV device:
- You can’t turn it back on again later.
- It may take up to 24 hours to complete this change.
- Once the change is complete, you have to sign in manually with your DIRECTV User ID and Password.

- Go to your account overview.
- Under My streaming devices area, select Manage.
- To disable auto sign-in, change the selector from On to Off (remember once done, you cannot turn it back on).
