Fix error messages 50001, 50002 & 50003

If you have issues with the video player or can't load content, try restarting your device. If that doesn't work, review the error messages below and the recommendations that follow.

Error messages

  • 50001-001: Sorry, there is a problem. Please try again later. (Apple iOS & tvOS)
  • 50002-001 & 50002-002: Time for an update. You need to update your DIRECTV app to continue. (Apple iOS, tvOS, Android & Amazon Fire TV only)
  • 50003-001 & 50003-002: We can't seem to sign you in. Please connect to the internet and sign in again. (Apple iOS, tvOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV only)

Browser recommendations

  • We recommend using Chrome or Safari
  • Disabling browser add-ons may improve video playback.

Troubleshoot the DIRECTV STREAM app

  • Close and restart the DIRECTV app.
  • Check for DIRECTV app updates in your app store. If an update is available, install it and reboot the device.
