FAQs regarding your DIRECTV account

Why is this change happening?

CenturyLink will no longer offer or support combined billing in select states. We will no longer combine bills with CenturyLink due to this change.

When will this change take place?

Separate billing will occur between May and July 2022 and continue after that. Over the course of these months, you will receive a notice in the mail from DIRECTV regarding this change and you should also receive bill messages from CenturyLink. Depending on your bill cycle, you may receive bills from both DIRECTV and CenturyLink in the month your bill is separated. This is not a double bill. It is important that you pay any bill received during this transition so your DIRECTV account remains in good standing.

What do I need to do?

Once the change is complete, you will pay your DIRECTV bill and CenturyLink bill separately. Your DIRECTV bill will be issued by DIRECTV and will arrive by mail. After you receive your first bill, you will need to set your preferences for paperless billing and automatic payments with DIRECTV. Note that your DIRECTV bill will likely have a different due date than your CenturyLink charges.

If you do not have a directv.com account, you can create one now.

What happens if I use AutoPay?

Any auto pay arrangement you had with CenturyLink will not apply to DIRECTV. If you would like to pay DIRECTV through automatic payments, you can enroll in your directv.com com account. Step-by-step instructions appear below.

What happens if I have paperless billing?

Any previous paperless billing arrangement you had with CenturyLink will no longer apply to your DIRECTV bill and your DIRECTV bill will come in the mail. If you would like to receive your DIRECTV bill via email, you can enroll for paperless billing in your directv.com account. Step-by-step instructions appear below.

What happens to my bundle discount?

If you received a service discount or “Bundle Savings” when you signed up for combined billing, DIRECTV will continue to provide you with the same discount on your DIRECTV bill, even after the bills are separated.
