Kids see mostly clear divisions between the good guys and the bad guys, even though the two evil Rangers, Roxy and Blaze, are controlled by the show's ubervillain, Evox. In order to save Roxy and Blaze, the Power Rangers must fight and defeat their evil cybervillain twins. Devon and Zoey became heroes by accident, but each one uses the opportunity to hone leadership, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Many scenes of martial arts-style combat between the Power Rangers and the villains. Punching, kicking, use of (plastic) swords and other hand weapons. Blasters shoot beams of light that explode and otherwise destroy what they hit. Costumed characters generally disappear or collapse when they're hit, implying that they die.
There are hints at a past relationship between Ravi and Roxy that was cut short by their involvement in the Power Rangers program.
This incarnation is number 26 in the Power Rangers lineage, so kids who take a liking to the concept through this introduction may want to check out some of the others.
