The Ottawa Senators were founded in 1992 and are part of the Atlantic Division. They were named after the original Ottawa Senators franchise, which played in the NHL and various other leagues from 1883 to 1935. That team folded in 1935, a year after moving to St. Louis. The new iteration of the Ottawa Senators is still looking for its first Stanley Cup title. The Sens, as they’re often called by their fans, came close in 2007, losing to the Anaheim Ducks in five games in the Stanley Cup Final. The Senators play their home games at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
