New York Islanders 2023 NHL TV Schedule & How to Watch Games

The New York Islanders were founded in 1972 and are part of the Metropolitan Division. The team was expected to be named “The Long Island Ducks” in reference to an Eastern Hockey League team that played from 1959 to 1973. Instead, the team chose the Islanders for their location on Long Island. The Islanders, who won four straight Stanley Cups from 1980 to 1983, were based in Uniondale, New York, for their first 42 seasons. They spent the next six playing at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale before moving to UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, in 2021.
