After the last few years of rebuilding and developing player’s talent, how will the Montreal Canadiens perform in the NHL season? The Montreal Canadiens were originally founded in 1909. The Canadiens are the only NHL club to predate the league’s founding in 1917. Their 24 Stanley Cup titles are the most of any team in the league. The “H” in their iconic logo stands for hockey but is often confused as standing for “habitants.” It became such a widespread misconception that the Canadiens earned the nickname “the Habs,” which fans still call them today. The Canadiens play their home games at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

While the Canadiens have appeared in the Stanley Cup finals a total of 35 times, they had an extremely long drought between appearances in 1993 and 2021. The team has also had a total of 85 playoff appearances throughout its history but have missed the playoffs five times in the last eight seasons.

For the last few years, the Canadiens have been more focused on developing their team than on winning titles, but fans are eager for the team’s luck to change. Check out the 2023-2024 Montreal Canadiens schedule here to see what the team is up against this season. The schedule will give you game times as well as the network broadcasting the games.

The Canadiens under-performed last season for a few reasons, the most prominent being the sheer number of injured players on the roster. If the team manages to stay healthy this year, however, the work they have done to improve the team may start showing. And with the additions of Wings Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky, the team is in better shape than we’ve seen in recent years.
