WHO ARE THE LOS ANGELES KINGS?
The Los Angeles Kings were founded in 1967 and have been a part of the Pacific Division since. In 1988, the Kings put Los Angeles on the hockey map when they acquired Wayne Gretzky, a Hall of Famer nicknamed “The Great One.”
Gretzky, who holds NHL records for most career goals (894) and assists (1,963), helped the franchise reach its first Stanley Cup Final in 1993. The Kings didn’t win that year or during Gretzky’s eight-season tenure with the team, but they did go on to win the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014. Since then, the team has been getting their skates back underneath them, and are said to be potential Cup contenders this season.
The Kings play their home games at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. For those who can’t make it to LA for the games, check out the Kings schedule for the 2023-2024 NHL season here.
