Fantasy Football Guy’s Week 5 picks

Fantasy Football Guy’s Week 5 picks

Hello again! Week 5 of the season is upon us and we have a few more teams on bye. Buccaneers and the Bears are off, so make sure to adjust your lineups accordingly.

Week 5 picks… here we go!

Start these guys!

QB – Jared Goff vs Seattle: The Rams offense has been a force all season. The Legion of Boom is no more in Seattle. The team looks completely lost. I do not trust that defense at all. Goff should tear apart the secondary that lost its leader, Earl Thomas, last week.

RB – Melvin Gordon vs Oakland: The Raiders gave up over 40 points last week to the Browns, and this week take on one of the better offenses in the league. Gordon does it all out of the backfield, and should have plenty of opportunities to rack up the fantasy points.

WR – Adam Thielen vs Philadelphia: The Vikings are looking for revenge after getting blown out in the NFC Championship last season. Kirk Cousins will look to exploit the Eagles’ secondary, which may be the weak spot of the defending champs. The Titans drove it down the field on them last week in overtime to win the game. Vikings could do the same, and Thielen will benefit.

TE – Greg Kittle vs Arizona: The tight end position has been the most ravaged by injuries this season. I would have gone with Cameron Brate, but the Bucs are off (check for him next week). For this week, I am leaning towards Kittle. He looks to have a great repour with Beathard, and the Cardinals have struggled all year.

Beware of these guys!

QB – Alex Smith vs New Orleans: This isn’t your father’s Saints defense. These guys can get to the QB. They are young, quick and smart. While Smith usually doesn’t make mistakes, I can see the Saints causing a couple of turnovers, especially in the Dome.

RB – Carlos Hyde vs Baltimore: The Ravens are starting to come together and look like a playoff team. Their defense is tough as nails, and tough to run against. The Browns offense has looked better, but Nick Chubb will start getting more carries and will start to effect how Hyde impacts your team.

WR – Emmanuel Sanders vs New York Jets: This can really go for any receiver on the Broncos. Case Keenum is just not the guy in Denver. He can’t make the throws that are needed. The Jets secondary is still one of the better ones in the league, and should cause issues for the Broncos receivers.

TE – Jared Cook vs Los Angeles Chargers: I know I keep betting against this guy, but I just don’t like this matchup for him. The Chargers have some of the quickest linebackers in the league and should be able to keep pace with him. If he goes off? Well, then maybe Cook has finally reached his potential.
