The Dallas Stars were originally founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars, until 1993 when the team moved to Dallas and changed its name to the Dallas Stars to reflect its new location in the Lone Star State.
Six years after moving to Dallas, in 1999, the Stars won the franchise’s only Stanley Cup title. The Stars play their home games at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
