The Cleveland Cavaliers were established in 1970 and are now part of the Central Division. The team won their first Central Division Title and clinched their first playoff run in the 1975-76 season but were defeated by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Since then, the team has had 22 playoff appearances, and have made it to the NBA Finals five time. The Cavs made it to the NBA championship four times in a row from 2014-2018, but only managed to win one of them. Since 2018, the team has only reached the playoffs once, in 2023.

One of the biggest reasons for their 2016 NBA championship was having Lebron James on the court. They made history by rallying from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. It’s the only time a team has come back from down 3-1 in the Finals.

They play their home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Original Cavaliers Logo with Musketeer From

The Cleveland Cavaliers is a team that has gone through a number of quite different logos throughout the years. Here is a brief look at how the design has evolved since 1970.

The first iteration of the logo had a musketeer shaded in red, with a yellow basketball set behind it. The team’s city and name were placed above and below the circle. This logo was used from 1970 to 1983. From 1983 to 2003, the team changed course completely, and opted to use the team’s nickname “Cavs” in the logo, featuring a basketball hoop with a ball going through it.

Cleveland Cavaliers Logo used from 84-94From 2003 to 2017, there were two iterations of the logo, which did a good job of combining the best elements of all the old logos. The full name of the team was back with a basketball behind it, and a sword going through the name.

Cleveland Cavaliers New Logo from Sportslogos.netIn 2017, the team redesigned again, designing the logo on a black shield. The team name appears in white with a large “C” under it that is wrapped around the blade of a sword. In 2022, the team went ahead and made some adjustments to the color scheme of the design as well as removing the sword completely.
