The Calgary Flames were originally founded as the Atlanta Flames in 1972. After the Flames relocated to Calgary in 1980, the team kept its name but changing logos to reflect the switch in cities. Now, the team plays in the Pacific Division.
In 1989, nine years after moving to Calgary, the Calgary Flames won their first and only Stanley Cup title. The Flames play their home games at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.
