After Boston Bruin icons Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired earlier in 2023, the team will need to figure out how to cover the center. BOSTON BRUINS HISTORY

The Boston Bruins were founded in 1924 and have since been part of the Atlantic Division. As one of the NHL’s “Original Six” teams, the Bruins have long been a staple in the NHL and continue to be to this day.

In the team’s 100 years, The Bruins have won six Stanley Cup championships, which trails only the Montreal Canadiens (24), Toronto Maple Leafs (13) and Detroit Red Wings (11), all of which are also “Original Six” teams. The Bruins play their home games at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Boston Bruins have not won a Stanley Cup since 2011. It looked like that streak was going to be broken last season, after the Boston Bruins played a stellar regular season, even breaking a few records.

They managed to win the most games in a season ever, coming in at 65 wins, beating the previous 62-game record set by the Detroit Red Wings (1995-1996) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (2018-2019). The team was given the President’s Trophy, which is the award given to the team that finishes with the most points in the regular season.

Unfortunately for the team – and Boston’s die-hard fanbase – the Boston Bruins quickly made history again, but not in the way they would have liked. The Bruins became the second President’s Trophy winning team to lose in the first round of the playoffs in the last five years.

Will the team be able to overcome their defeat for their 100th season? Fans sure hope so.
