Helping to Make Our Community Stronger

DIRECTV is not just a company, we’re part of a community. That’s why we’ve created innovative programs for K-12 schools and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, as well as employee volunteerism and disaster relief. See what we've been up to and how
we're working to enhance the world we live in.

Disaster Relief

  • We’re there to lend a hand when disaster strikes.
Whether it's donating to the American Red Cross to help rebuild communities or providing our TV service to relief workers in the field, we're prepared to do what we can. We've provided assistance for victims of the Colorado wildfires, Oklahoma, Alabama and Missouri tornadoes, the 2011 tsunami in Japan, and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. In the aftermath of a disaster, DIRECTV is ready to do
    its part.

    Employee Programs

We support our employees with the causes they care about
A large portion of our philanthropy is employee-driven, supporting the causes that matter most to our passionate and diverse employees in the communities they call home. DIRECTV offers gift matching for employee donations of up to $20,000 each year, and in the last five years, DIRECTV has matched more than $4.2 million in employee donations to the organizations that matter most to our workforce.

All employees are eligible to participate in our DIRECTV System Donation Program, which allows employees to donate a year of DIRECTV service to a nonprofit for a fundraising event once each year. Additionally, our Volunteer Grants Program allows employees to request a DIRECTV grant of $250 for a nonprofit where they have volunteered 25 hours in a calendar year.

Each year, DIRECTV offers 100 scholarships of $3,000 or more to children of employees pursuing post-secondary education at a two-year or four-year college or university or vocational/technical school.
  • Giving Guidelines

DIRECTV's Corporate Citizenship department is responsible for developing and maintaining the company's strategy for philanthropic giving and community involvement. The department manages strategic community partnerships, corporate citizenship initiatives and charitable giving in DIRECTV's name, including cash and in-kind donations, and is the primary point of contact for cause-related outreach. DIRECTV’s primary philanthropic focus is K-12 schools and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education.

DIRECTV typically supports U.S.-based non-profit organizations with which we have previously established relationships. DIRECTV does not currently operate a grant program and does not seek or review unsolicited donation applications and project proposals. Click here to learn more about our giving guidelines.
