State-of-the-art DIRECTV technology is superior to cable's older analog signal. Surprisingly, in most areas even "digital cable" isn't always digital. Even if cable companies place digital equipment in your home, you may not have access to 100% digital programming all the time.
For HDTVs, 100% digital-quality makes a big difference
DIRECTV® HD programming offers the clearest picture, the most amazing sound and the most sought-after HD programming. DIRECTV channels on a high-definition television will appear more crisp than cable's analog channels – even within a digital cable package.
To access DIRECTV® HD programming, a Triple LNB Multi-Satellite Dish, a DIRECTV® HD Receiver and HD television equipment are required.
All customers have access to digital benefits
With DIRECTV, all customers who order pay per view and premium services can enjoy them with all-digital delivery. Our music channels are also 100% digital-quality. Cable customers with analog service may not have these options.
100% digital equipment available nationwide
DIRECTV all-digital equipment, including DIRECTV® HD Receivers and DIRECTV® DVRs, are available nationwide. With cable, this equipment may only be available in limited areas, or not at all.
