Through the DIRECTV GOES TO SCHOOL® program, qualifying state-accredited schools, grades K through 12 can receive a FREE DIRECTV® System and educational programming package to enhance their students' classroom experience.

The package, SCHOOL CHOICE®, is a special combination of news, educational and informational programming that can enhance and complement classroom lessons. To help educators maximize their SCHOOL CHOICE programming, we provide monthly online programming highlights specially designed with curriculum-related content and tips on how to integrate these programs into K-12 curriculum.

Bring DIRECTV to Your School

  1. Read and sign the DIRECTV Commercial Viewing Agreement and Semi-Public Viewing Addendum.
  2. Fill out the Program Authorization Form.
  3. Write a letter on school letterhead requesting the SCHOOL CHOICE package and indicating how many receivers your school will need (up to 4 standard receivers or 3 standard receivers and 1 DIRECTV Plus® DVR.)
  4. Fax all four documents in their entirety (6 pages total) to 1-303-712-4995.

Your FREE equipment will be shipped once all application materials are received and approved. Once the equipment arrives, it is then up to you to get it installed. You will need to arrange installation via a DIRECTV installer or by your school staff/volunteers. DIRECTV does not provide installation. Contact your local electronics store for installation, or find professional installers here.

Following installation, call 1-888-330-7827 to activate your receivers. You will need to provide the manufacturer name, serial number, receiver identification number and access card number for each receiver. If approved, your SCHOOL CHOICE programming will be activated within 72 hours. All equipment must be installed and activated within 90 days of receipt.
