Who is eligible for the Friends and Family offer?
Friends and Family members of DIRECTV employees. Referred friends and family members must be new DIRECTV residential subscribers to participate in this offer. This offer is not available in the limited areas served by the members or affiliates of the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative. Commercial accounts are also not eligible.
How much does it cost?
Friends and/or family members will receive a DIRECTV System and standard professional installation at no charge. A shipping and handling fee of $14.95 plus applicable taxes must be paid via credit card. Participation requires a minimum one year subscription to TOTAL CHOICE® programming ($33.99/mo.) or above package.

How do I take advantage of the offer?
To order, friends or family members can call the DIRECTV Friends and Family Program at 1-877-671-5214. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, seven days a week. You must have the employee's full name and DIRECTV employee payroll number or special offer code. You will be asked for it.
How long is the offer available?

What type of DIRECTV System will I receive?
You will receive a new DIRECTV receiver, appropriate dual LNB satellite dish enabling local channel reception, if available in your area, and remote control. Equipment manufacturer will be chosen by DIRECTV and will vary based on availability.
Equipment comes with a one-year warranty provided by the manufacturer. DIRECTV PARA TODOS service customers will receive a new DIRECTV Multi-Satellite receiver, an 18" x 24" dual LNB satellite dish, and remote control. Equipment comes with a one-year warranty provided by the manufacturer.
How many systems may be obtained?
Each friend or family member household may obtain one (1) DIRECTV System; up to five (5) additional receivers may be purchased at the time of the order.
Can additional receivers be purchased? How much do they cost?
additional receiver costs $49.00 and every additional receiver thereafter
(limit 4) may be purchased at the time of the original order. Each additional
receiver costs $99 and includes standard professional installation if
installed at the same time as the primary receiver. Programming fee for
each additional receiver is $4.99 per month, provided that all receivers
are continuously connected to the same land-based telephone line.
Can additional receivers be purchased without the additional installation?
No. This ensures you receive a complete and professional installation of the DIRECTV System and additional receivers. Please note that complex installations will result in additional charges. You should discuss installation issues with the installer prior to installation.
When ordering an additional receiver, what type will I receive?
Additional receivers will vary based on availability at time of purchase.
DIRECTV PARA TODOS service customers will receive a new DIRECTV Multi-Satellite receiver.
Can DIRECTV PARA TODOS-capable equipment be requested?
Yes. There is no additional cost for DIRECTV Multi-Satellite equipment and installation.
If DIRECTV PARA TODOS-capable equipment is requested, what are the programming requirements?
Requesting a DIRECTV Multi-Satellite System requires a minimum one year subscription to OPCIÓN EXTRA ESPECIAL ($33.99/mo.) or above.
What is the method of payment?
You must pay by credit card. Payment must be made in one lump sum prior to shipment of the DIRECTV System hardware. Credit card payment is not required for residents of PA and MA.
Can the order be paid for using a check or money order?
Orders must be paid for via credit card only, except where prohibited by law.
How long will it take to process the order?
It will only take a few minutes for the order to be taken over the phone.
If I'm not at home at the time of delivery, will FedEx leave the package?
Yes. The FedEx representative will coordinate delivery for another day.
Who will install the DIRECTV System?
The DIRECTV HOME SERVICES Network will be responsible for all DIRECTV professional installations.
When will the installer be available for installation of the system?
The installation appointment will be scheduled at the time of the order. The installation date will be 10 days or more from the order date.
What do I do if I don't hear from an installer?
Call the installation network at 1-888-355-7530. Hours of operation 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Eastern Time Monday to Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p. m. Saturday and Sunday.
Can I contact my own installer?
If you choose to contact your own installer, it would be at your own expense and there are no warranties provided by DIRECTV when another installer does the work.
Is local programming available with the DIRECTV System?
Yes. Popular local channels are available in select markets. In these markets, DIRECTV offers base packages that include local channels. When you call to place your order, the DIRECTV representative will have details on hardware/system requirements in your city. Eligibility for Local Channels is based on service address within certain designated market areas as defined by Nielsen Media Research, Inc.
Not living in a Local Channel market?
You can still receive your Local Channels through an off-air antenna (rooftop or set-top antenna). Reception may vary based on geographic location. Rooftop and set-top off-air antenna not available through DIRECTV as part of this offer.
If I purchase an off-air antenna, will the installer install it?
The installer will install the off-air antenna at an additional charge to you. Rooftop and set-top off-air antenna not available through DIRECTV as part of this offer.
Is the equipment Surround Sound capable?
The DIRECTV System/receiver(s) is Surround Sound capable if connected to your Surround Sound stereo or television. The equipment is not equipped with Dolby Digital sound.
What if I live in an apartment?
With the efforts of DIRECTV to provide service to multiple-dwelling units (MDUs), it is possible that the apartment building is already wired for DIRECTV® programming, so ask your landlord. However, if the building is not already wired, keep in mind that as of 1999, the FCC ruled in favor of MDU residents and renters that want to install satellite TV equipment on their rental properties. It applies to all apartments, condominiums, town homes and single family homes, and it lets residents install either satellite dishes or TV antennas on private balconies, patios or gardens. (Common areas such as rooftops are exempt from the ruling.)
Therefore, landlords/property managers CANNOT prohibit an apartment dweller from mounting a satellite dish on their rented property. The renter can ask their landlord if they can put a dish on the rooftop of the apartment building so they can view DIRECTV® programming, but if that is not allowed, the renter can still legally install the system on a balcony or patio, provided the satellite dish antenna has a clear view to the southern sky.
